Wooladon Estate is on the border of Devon and Cornwall (firmly set in Devon soil though to those who are patriotic, like me!) and boasts a 500 acre heavenly setting. I have quite the emotional attachment to this venue as over my career as a wedding photographer, I have spent a lot of time here shooting a lot of their promotional work and also curating and photographing styled shoots, all of which have been published in Wed Magazine! In fact, as I am writing this and cross referencing my facts with their website, I am super exited to see how many of my photos are actually on their website! I feel sort of famous!!

Fun Facts
In 2023, I curated and shot my very first styled shoot at Wooladon Estate. The concept of the shoot was to promote the origin of my business and why I decided on Rabbit House Studio Photography as a name. The shoot consisted of 15 suppliers, all hand picked as I love their work and their ethos. It also included two mischievous little rabbits, Mushroom and Wilbur, who actually stole the show, and also Wooladon’s resident miniature ponies who were equally as characteristic but also maybe somewhat confused! At the time of this shoot, the idea of The Rustic Barn was in it’s very early stages and we actually went in, climbed over the heavy machinery to find a small corner of the barn that we could use in the photos. Needless to say that it is far more polished and impressive now that it is finished and I have since completed another shoot in the wonder of the finished space.

With ample accommodation onsite, there is plenty of space for both parties to get ready without the risk of seeing each other before the ceremony.
The bridal suite is actually the bridal suite of dreams. The cream, cloud like carpet is enough in it’s own right but the charming country décor and luxurious en suite really gives off the perfect wedding prep vibes.
The Country Suite boasting atmospheric chandeliers and charming rustic features, is one option for your ceremony. With its beautiful fireplace, exposed beams and stone walls, this space captures the essence of countryside elegance.
The Garden Room is perfect for your drinks reception or for a smaller intimate wedding breakfast. It brings nature indoors with its bi-folding doors looking out onto the beautiful lake and gardens.
The purpose built rustic barn is filled with charm and elegance, blending its old cow shed original rustic features with the modern amenities of a contemporary and refined wedding venue. Carefully curated features, including rustic panelling and chic chandeliers, ensure that The Barn’s natural beauty provides a stunning backdrop for any wedding.
Changing Seasons
I do believe that this venue is one for couples that love an adventure and choose outdoors as their preferred place to capture some moments of just the two of them. The site is so vast that most of the iconic locations are accessible via a short Landover ride. Saying that, every way you look on this site is picturesque and stunningly set up for ease of photography moments.
There are ample spaces for inside photographs if the weather isn’t on our side. However the seasons bring a whole range of colours throughout the year from lush, bright greens and yellow foliage in the spring to golden reds, oranges and yellows in the autumn.
Memorable Moment
I this must be the first time I got to shoot a couple in the really rustic barn. Having seen this space grow, literally from the ground up, it was just the cherry on the top of the cake to have a beautiful bride (and groom!!) in this space and take advantage of all of the carefully selected features to make some stunning pictures!
